本文是以模仿欲望和复制性为切入点对纳博科夫的早期小说《绝望》的一篇文本细读。通过揭示纳博科夫与瓦尔特·本雅明关于机械复制的理论和勒内·吉拉尔的"模仿欲望"理论的呼应,作者试图证明,《绝望》表现了这样一个典型的现代主义主题,即赫尔曼的谋杀和写作都是对现代复制性社会的象征性复仇。纳博科夫用在外在的技术现代性与内在的欲望模仿性双重重压下的赫尔曼的故事,荒诞化了现代人对所谓的独创性和本真性的追求。
Abstract：This article examines Vladimir Nabokov's early fiction Despair through the prism of Walter Benjamin's theory of mechanical reproduction and Rene Girard's mimetic desire.It argues that in Despair, both Hermann's murder and writing are portrayed as an individual's symbolic revenge on modern society. Nabokov puts at odds the possibility of pursuing originality and authenticity with 20 th-century European reality by demonstrating Hermann's struggle under technological modernity and inner mimetic desire.
