中国俄罗斯侨民作家格尔曼·卡丘洛夫是一位伟大的现实主义作家。20世纪三四十年代侨居中国的上海。他以现实主义手法描述了当时中国老百姓的真实生活。其作品折射了他对中国百姓人生、命运的思考,从侧面反映出他关注民生、审视社会、探索发展的人道主义创作思想。对中国人民的困苦生活报以同情,希望用他的笔唤醒沉睡中的中国人。

Chinese Russian expatriate writer Germann Kaqiurov is a great realist,who lived in Shanghai in the 1930's and 1940's.In a realistic way,he described the real life of Chinese people at that time.His work reflects not only his thinking of Chinese people's life and fate,but his humanitarian ideas of creation in paying close attention to people's livelihood,in examining the society,and in exploring the way of development.He expressed sympathy for the plight of Chinese people's life,hoping to wake them up with his works.
